My Target Audience

The audience that my magazine is targeted at is automotive enthusiasts. In general, the age of my audience ranges from around 14 years old - 65 years old. Eseentially, the primary age group follows the trend of the average driving age. In regards to gender, it is primarily men that will be drawn to this magazine, although the targeted gender in this genre continues to become more evenly split with each passing year. My target audience is predominantly located in wealthier countries where the majority of citizens can afford to buy a car. Also, considering the magazine will be printed in English, the major countries targeted will be the US, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand, although other European and/or South American countries may also be included in the countries to which this magazine is distributed. As previously mentioned, the average income level of my audience would be enough to afford to either buy or lease a new car. In the US, this usually means around $40,000/year at minimum. The education level of my audience will mostly be people with some level of higher education. This can include a collegiate level of education, or education from a vocational academy (trade school). The uniting factor between all of the "sub-factions" of my audience will be the fact that they share an interest in the automotive industry or in motorsports. However, most readers of automotive magazines also have similar interests in fashion and leisure activities. For example, many members of my target audience enjoy playing golf (especially the older members). This is how I will determine what adds to put in my magazine. My product will appeal to my audience by offering advertisements that cater to their interests, and by displaying content that captures their attention. This will include the latest news available on events taking place in the automotive industry and in the world of motorsports.
